Three Slovenian senior national team members — Gal Bertalanič Žižek, Nace Herkovič and Aljaž Plantak — took part in an international training camp held in Helsinki from 5 to 10 May.
The training camp took place at the Finnish Olympic Training Center under the guidance of Roki Drakšič, a former Slovenian national team member and now head coach of the Finnish national team. In Helsinki, the Slovenian judoka trained alongside athletes from Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Croatia, Slovenia, Great Britain and Morocco.
The international camp provided an excellent opportunity for high-quality training sessions, strong randori and valuable experience ahead of the upcoming competitions. The senior national team members will soon also face an important domestic challenge, as the Senior National Championships are scheduled for 6 June.
Before then, Gal Bertalanič Žižek will compete next weekend at the Algiers African Open, followed one week later by the Sarajevo Senior European Cup, where Aljaž Plantak will also take part. Nace Herkovič’s next international appearance will be at the Tallinn European Open.
