The Slovenian kata national team competed last weekend at the European Kata Cup in Pordenone, where 136 competitors from 11 countries took part.
Kara and Keno Kojc, who became European youth champions in Katame-no-Kata last June, once again stepped onto the top of the podium. The two judoka from Ljubljana’s Polyteam were the best already in the preliminary round and then dominated the final, winning by an impressive margin of 21 points.
For the sister and brother, this marks their second victory since winning the European Championship title. Last September, they claimed gold at the European Kata Cup in Madrid and later finished second at the European Kata Cup in Maintal.
In the senior Katame-no-Kata competition, Kora and Kira Kojc competed in their preliminary group, finishing in fourth place and missing out on the final by just half a point.
The event was also officiated by Slovenian international kata referee Darko Krašovec.
